FAQ’s

+ Can I do Reformer Pilates if I’ve never done Pilates before?

Absolutely! You’re in capable hands with our incredible team of experienced teachers. However, we’d love to personally walk you through a couple of things first. In order for you to get the most out of your initial group class, we recommend starting with a private session so you can get your head around all of the basics without the distraction of new people, too.
In your private, we’ll teach you about how the Pilates Reformer machines work, how to engage your core muscles to prevent injury, and go over some of the exercises you’d encounter in a group class.

+ I have an injury – can I still attend classes?

Different injuries require different types of rehabilitation. Our instructors are well-versed in adapting their sequences to accommodate for variations in ability, but if you have any pre-existing conditions, are new to exercise, or have any active injuries, please do talk to us first. We trust in the intelligence of our bodies to let us know what we need, but when in doubt, it is best to consult with your doctor.

+ What should I wear?

For optimal comfort, choose active-wear that supports flexible movement. Leggings or bike shorts and a fitted tee ensures you can confidently move your legs in a reclined position without the concern of fabric riding up or hooking on the Pilates reformer machines. If you are doing a Pilates reformer class you will need Pilates socks, which are available for purchase at the studio.

+ Can I do Pilates when I’m pregnant?

The gentle, deliberate fluidity of Pilates is perfect for pregnancy—strengthening your pelvic floor, minimising lower back pain, and deepening your connection to breath. Not only is it a safe and low-impact way to support your body in blooming towards labour, but it can also be transformative in the recovery process postpartum.

For your safety, we require all prenatal clients to begin with a private session before their first studio class and wait six weeks after labour to return for private sessions (12 weeks for group classes). A certificate from your treating doctor may be requested.

Please note Cardio Flow is not suitable for pregnant women.

Pilates is an innovative system of mind-body exercise using a floor mat or a variety of equipment. It evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates and can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. Benefits of Pilates include:

– Now more than ever, it is essential to cultivate a safe space for all. If you are unwell, please refrain from visiting our studio. However, if you suffer from asthma or allergies that may cause you to present as symptomatic, simply let your instructor know.

– With health and hygiene at the forefront of our minds, we have ensured the availability of hand sanitiser for your comfort and convenience. Please help us keep our studio safe and sanitise your hands upon arrival.

– Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we check you in at reception before entry. Our COVID Safety Plan helps us to care for our community and requires we have accurate records of all attendees.

– We’ve provided paper hand towels and anti-bacterial spray in order to keep everything sparking from the inside out. Please wipe down your machine, mats, and any other equipment you’ve used once class is over.

+ Cancellations

We maintain a 12 hour cancellation policy to ensure the quality of our service. If you give less than 12 hours or do not show up to your scheduled class, you will forfeit your class payment.

+ Waitlist

If your ideal class time is fully booked, we recommend adding yourself to the waitlist. When a position opens, you will be notified of availability by email and you can select to book the class.

+ Packages

All packages are for individual use and therefore can not be shared and are non-transferable.

+ New Clients

We recommend new clients take a private session to learn the ropes, moves and machines.

+ Arrival

Please arrive five minutes prior to class to settle in. If you’re a first time client, please allow 10 minutes to sign in. Lateness can be disruptive to the class and can be a safety issue. Please be on time. We want you to get the most out of your class or session.

+ Pilates Socks

Pilates socks are required for all Reformer sessions for the benefit of all clients using the equipment. Socks can be purchased at the studio.
